Since long before pursuing a career as an academic economist, I have been active in the community. Continuing with this commitment, I view research as an amazing opportunity to apply different skills to problems I have been passionately working on for over a decade — economics is a tool to understand pressing social issues so that we as a community can achieve an inclusive provisioning process. The goals for my future research directly relates to my commitment to strengthening the community and developing a social system that recognizes, celebrates, and encourages diversity, achieves egalitarian outcomes, and promotes autonomy. The complexity of pressing social problems, often occurring at the intersection of different social and political identities, necessitates an interdisciplinary approach. My hope is that commitment to interdisciplinary research will foster relations with fellow colleagues both within economics and across disciplines as well as in the community.
